Hillary and Diplomacy
I think everyone has read or at least heard about the huge issue of Florida and Michigan delegates, most of us know the issue is about their delegates shouldnt be counted because they were warned ahead of time about moving up their primaries and the loss of their seats yet decided to do so anyway.
Now Florida is deciding to sue over the issue trying to force the reinstatement of their delegates claiming voters are being disenfranchised. I had to think about this a bit because honestly it bugs me because i firmly believe in the right of every American to have their vote count even if this does mean its possible it may hurt my own candidate.
Bill Clinton and Obama are pretty much on the same page on the issue with both saying that Florida's full delegates should not be counted but they agree that allowing half of them is a reasonable solution. True diplomats those two... on the other hand Hillary says no way, i want them all...
So tell me is that what we really want in a President? Someone who isnt willing to compromise, who wants all or nothing, someone who cant even be diplomatic with someone in her own party let alone another country? Someone who is willing to tear the Democrat Party in half for their own gains? This also goes back to another thing i hear often from Hillary supporters, that Bill Clinton will have influence on Hillary... If anything this shows he will have little if any influence on her decisions. So those of you who are voting for Hillary because you think your getting a little bit of Bill's influence back, you better think again.
It may surprise some of you to know that I like Bill Clinton, always have, he brought balance back into the office. Sure there are a few things i wasnt happy about when he was in office, mainly his actions on the military and foreign affairs, his bringing his personal life into the White House, his dealings about Nafta but on the all he really did seem to try to do what was best for the People of this country. He was great at diplomacy and had a way of working well between the people and the government. Over all he even compromised well with Republicans at least most of his term. So it makes me wonder and it should make you at least consider.... If Bill wasnt married to Hillary and had no personal ties to her..... Who do you think he would be supporting? The candidate most like him when it comes to diplomacy or the candidate least like him?
Look even further back then that, every decent President we have had at least for several years back was considered a great diplomat. They all for the most had the ability to work well with the other party in compromises for solutions. So what do we really want in a President another its my way or the highway President like we already have, or someone who can compromise to come to solutions?
Hmm... I'll get back to this later, i just heard a really irritating remark McCain made in California just yesterday, and I cant help but comment right now...
Quote: "I will keep this nation prosperous and secure.” - John McCain, May 21 2008, Stockdale California
Where in the heck has he been living for the past several months if not years? Prosperous? Secure? He's one of the few that really believes that, with the dollar dropping, home foreclosures up, unemployment, job security down, at least half of our nations defense contracts being given to foreign companies, that man has clearly been spending to much time with President Bush.
That pretty much does it, im going to have to rethink my voting strategy if Hillary wins. No i still will not vote for Hillary but I may have to really consider not voting at all.
